Planter Finishes
Galvanised steel planters are well established now as a favourite for exterior landscapes and projects.They are a tough, resilient, urban looking alternative to stainless steel and excellent value. Although shiny to start with, these planters will dull down over time.
Powder coated containers come in a large variety of colours and either a matt, silk, or gloss finish. Look at our RAL colour chart to choose your ideal finish.
A dry powder is electro-statically charged and sprayed onto the earthed surface of the planter. Due to the electric charge the powder is attracted to the earthed component and adheres to the surface giving an all over even coat finish.
Stainless Steel is a medium weight material that is available in a brushed finished or a polished, almost mirrored finish.
The Mirrored, polished effect creates a very dramatic effect if placed outside.
The brushed finish has a much more understated feel, retaining its new appearance for many years.
Although an expensive material, copper is worth every penny. Its beautiful colour sets it apart from all other metals.
The copper planter will continue to be more rustic in outdoor conditions, and oxidation will occur over time, adding to the attractive colouring of these planters. They make stunning containers for small rooftop gardens and balconies.
Corten Steel is a weathering steel. As it ages it takes on a orange/brown appearance dependent on the salt level of the atmosphere, over time it forms a protective layer or skin against the elements.
This corrosion-retarding layer is produced by the distribution and concentration of elements in the steel; these elements include small amounts of Chromium, Nickel and Copper.
The outer surface of the metal reacts to changes in the weather, as it develops and regenerates continuously it produces a rust to form a protective barrier.
For our Bronze finish we use a specially formulated powder coating, which contains copper and bronze particles. It gives a beautiful consistent and lasting bronze finish which is UV stable and easy to clean.
